The Reverend Charles A Maxell, Jr., aka “RevCAM” is the Founder and Senior Pastor of The Breakthrough Fellowship. The son of the Rev. Dr. Charles A Maxell, Sr., and the Rev. Bernese Shaw, Rev. Maxell is no stranger to the ministry. Licensed to preach in 1996 and ordained an Itinerant Deacon in 2005 and an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (A.M.E.) in 2010. Rev. Maxell was the Youth Minister of St. James A.M.E. Church in Newark, NJ and served as an Associate Minister on the ministerial staff of Big Bethel AME Church, Atlanta, GA. Since that time, he has served on the ministerial staff of Saint Phillip AME Church, Atlanta, GA under the leadership of his father-in-law, the Rev. Dr. William D. Watley.

As a leader, Rev. Maxell is highly regarded for his bold vision, business acumen, innovation and inspiring leadership. As a pastor, he is well respected for his passion for God, love for people and his inspiring messages of hope and wholeness through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Often he says, “We want to be a church that has a heart for God and a heart for people. We want to be a church that tells the world that no matter who you are or where you come from…God is real. God loves you. And you matter to Him.”

In addition to being a pastor, Rev. Maxell is the Executive Vice President and the Regional Practice Leader for the Willis Group; an international insurance consulting firm. Rev. Maxell is a proud graduate of Howard University and the Turner Theological Seminary of The Interdenominational Theological Center (The ITC). But what brings him the most joy is his family: his wife, Jennifer Watley Maxell aka “Lady J” and their three children, Madison, Charles III and Skylar.
